Just After Sunset by Stephen King

Just After Sunset is a compilation of 13 short stories by the Master of Horror himself, Stephen King. This collection is sort of like a sequel to another 2002 bestselling collection Everything's Eventual.

Just After Sunset includes the story The Cat From Hell, which was originally published on Cavalier, a men's magazine, about 30 years ago. All 13 pieces are definitely worth reading, and have that King trademark of thrill and scare.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery

The Little Prince was first published in 1943, and I came across it more than 50 years later. The story is about the journey of the little prince from one planet to another. Along the way, he meets one adult person living on each planet and spends interesting experiences and conversations with them. A movie adaptation of this good novel features Haley Joel Osment as the little prince and Richard Gere as the pilot.

The Dead Poets Society by N.H. Kleinbaum

The Dead Poets Society is a moving and enlightening story about a group of teenage boys in a private school called Welton Academy. A movie adaptation of this novel starred a very young Ethan Hawke and Robert Sean Leonard (who is now regularly seen on House as Dr. James Wilson, an oncologist). Award-winning actor Robin Williams did a great job in playing the role of English professor John Keating. Mr. Keating opened the boys' minds to the beauty of literature, reading and discussing the works of Byron, Keats, Shelley and Thoreau to them. This newfound freedom resulted to different things, great and tragic.

Under The Dome by Stephen King

Under The Dome is a new Stephen King novel that is set to be released in November. It is about how some kind of an electric field caused a dome to form over a town. This dome sealed its people off from the rest of the world. They are puzzled with what's going on, and everybody is looking for ways to get out. This is a sure bestseller from the King of Horror himself.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

I am among the hardcore fanatics of the Harry Potter series. When I first read the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in around 1999 or 2000, I was awed and amazed with the possible existence of a magical world where unicorns, witches, werewolves and wizards exist. I wanted to know how it feels like to be on Diagon Alley or how Hogwarts look like. I also dreamed of being a Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. J.K. Rowling is a brilliant writer, and I am thankful that she gave us Muggles the chance to get a glimpse of the wizarding world.

The Bro Code by Barney Stinson

On How I Met Your Mother, Barney Stinson (played by Neil Patrick Harris) is a commitment-phobe and just likes to play around with women. When he hooked up with Robin, Ted's (Barney's best friend) ex-girlfriend, he felt that he broke The Bro Code. According to him, this book which was written by his ancestor named Barnabas Stinson, clearly stated that, "Thou shalt not sleep with your Bro's ex-girlfriend."
The Bro Code contains more funny and witty lines like that and is definitely worth reading during one of those boring days. It is awesome and legendary.

The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger

The Catcher In The Rye is a novel which was published in 1951, and was written by J.D. Salinger. It is about the life of a teenager named Holden Caulfield, who is the epitome of cynicism and angst. He dreams to be a deaf mute, and thinks that everybody around him are phonies. It is a very entertaining book.
